FV520B is an improved martensitic stainless steel. The characterisitics of FV520B are its good corrosion resistance, weldability and capacity of being hardened by low temperature treatment. FV520B is recommended for steam turbine blades and aircraft components.
FV520B is a precipitation hardening stainless steel with excellent antigalling characteristics. FV520B has useful resistance to some acid conditions and rusting rate in marine and industrial atmospheres is low. FV520B is subject to pitting corrosion under marine organism growths and crevice corrosion on prolonged immersion
